The dispensing of drugs has, down the ages, been an essential part of the evolving history of medicine. However, in modern times, fast changing developments have frequently caught the public imagination in tabloids, triumphs and tragedies. This talk tells the fascinating story of pills and potions since 1850.

Tilli Tansey OBE is Professor of the History of Modern Medical Science at Queen Mary University of London. She was recently awarded an Honorary Doctorate by Sheffield University.
