Professor Julian Jackson is one of the leading historians of modern France. His biography of General de Gaulle, published in 2018, won numerous prizes both in France and Britain. His recent book on the trial of Marshal Petain, published in 2023, won the Duff Cooper Prize for Nonfiction and was selected as book of the year by many newspapers.
