Professor Paul Roberts organized the recent exhibition at the Ashmolean Museum on the subject of the talk.  The world famous Ashmolean is the oldest public Museum in existence.

Paul Roberts gained his degree and doctorate at Cambridge University.  He speaks Italian and has undertaken much research in Italy and is widely regarded as an expert on Roman life.  He was formerly Curator of Roman Antiquities at the British Museum and has lectured previously to the Society on the Pompeii Exhibition which he organized at that Museum.
