The coach will leave Culverhayes at 8.00 and drive first to Greenway to explore Agatha Christie’s atmospheric country home. Set in the 1950s, it gives a glimpse into the lives of the famous author and her family.
Watch informative audio visual presentation in the stables by the author’s grandson before visiting the house and its extensive fine gardens overlooking the Dart estuary. Café.
Note there are some cobbled areas.
Depart from Greenway at 12.30 for the short drive via the Higher Ferry across to Dartmouth to arrive at the south esplanade. Around 13.00 (Public toilets).
Numerous opportunities nearby for lunch at own expense.
At 14.30 we will meet our guide at the bandstand in the Royal Avenue Gardens, (adjacent to the coach stop) who will take us on a walking tour of this delightful and historic naval town.
After the tour a Devon cream tea (included) will be served in the Royal Castle Hotel close to the south esplanade, overlooking the Dart estuary, at 16.00. We will meet our coach back at the south esplanade at 16.30 for our return journey.
Approximate time of return 18.45.
Cost for NT members £36 [must bring NT card or be prepared to pay full NT entrance fee on the day (£10.50) ]
