The history of the English love affair with Bordeaux wine.
Claret

Despite the fact that over the centuries England has frequently been at war with France, this has never stopped the trade in wine from Bordeaux to this country. This talk explains the reasons why our forebears fell in love with claret.

David Copp studied in all the classic wine-producing countries of Europe before joining the UK wine trade. He later became a member of the Circle of Wine Writers and has visited all the major wine regions of the world. He has been an International Wine Competition judge and has written four books on wine, including Bordeaux St Estèphe; Tokaj: For The Bibulous Traveller; and Australian Wine Walkabout. His Hungary: Its Fine Wines and Winemakers was shortlisted for the Louis Roederer International Wine Book of the Year Award.
